Spiro oversees all operational, new business and marketing aspects of Centaur. He is directly responsible for every facet of the growth and development of all Centaur’s construction services and project divisions, focusing on quality assurance. He leads the team in all areas of project management, new materials & product solutions and recruiting. The combination of his ambition, passion to create and outright refusal of failure has made him the ideal entrepreneur to shape and build Centaur.
The burgeoning Chicago hospitality industry paved the way for Spiro’s early success. The 1990s provided the opportunity to own a restaurant, bar, supervise complex renovations and learn, hands-on, design-build construction. Each successful venture led to reveal his true talent: a passion for the art of building and construction.
In 1998 Spiro’s accomplishments and growing reputation proffered the opportunity to focus exclusively on the finer elements of construction: high-end restoration and renovation. The attention to detail required of this niche married Spiro’s unrelenting quest for perfection with his appreciation for the art of architecture.
Turning his full attention to the growth and success of Centaur, Spiro and his partner Peter Alexopoulos, the firm’s President, set their sights on building a construction company of unparalleled excellence. A decade later, with numerous projects behind them, Spiro and Centaur are proud to have worked with untold architects, designers, craftsmen and laborers to beautify the skyline of a great city.
Spiro resides in a landmark home that he fully renovated. His life outside Centaur is filled with things that move fast and, much like his professional life, few can keep pace.
