LINCOLN PARK RESIDENCE

Centaur Interiors strong organizational ability, performance in the field, and high customer satisfaction was recognized again by The Kohler Store – Chicago when awarding this project. Designer Patricia Piasecki’s concept called for a complete reconfiguration of the owner’s Master Bathroom adding elegance and privacy while increasing functionality. The entire floor of their Lincoln Park home was dedicated to the Master Suite.

Unique facets of the design are within the glass-enclosed shower area, where a tower was created to house the plumbing lines and fixtures. Tiled in a glass mosaic pattern bordered by custom beveled glass tiles, the tower is the focal point. Wall niches and a bench add to the artistic appeal of the refined space. Pushing the boundaries of creativity by using Caesar stone, the bench seat, vanity counter and tub transition into the shower. The exterior shower wall was built out to allow for better insulation and construction of niches which house the steam control

Challenges like moving the location and changing the swing of the entry door, the addition of a privacy wall for the toilet area, and an open closet design were presented. Due to the Master Bath being on the third floor, the adjacent office was turned into a staging and material prep area. Access was provided via an exterior spiral staircase.

The ceiling was completely reconfigured incorporating recessed lighting. Panasonic exhaust fan, and audio speaker which are all centered on the floor plan. This redesign was necessary as the vaulted ceiling was transitioned to a flat ceiling. The steam unit is serviceable through a custom access door above the open closet.

The owner’s confidence in Centaur grew to a level that led to the first floor powder room being remodeled along with other areas throughout the home to complete the custom detail and feel they were looking to achieve.
